Funk Tribu is one of the standout names in the new wave of trance-influenced club music. Born Eduardo José Montañez Sánchez in Bogotá, he began producing as a teenager, inspired by the emotional pull of early trance icons like Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Ferry Corsten. His breakout moment came in 2021 with Phonky Tribu, a viral track that moved from TikTok feeds to global club rotation and eventually surpassed 100 million Spotify streams. Soon after, he relocated to Berlin, where he refined a sound blending euphoric trance melodies with modern, high-impact club production. Since then, Funk Tribu has played major festivals worldwide while releasing his debut album Against All Odds and launching TRIBE, a label and collective focused on emotionally driven club music. With global momentum and deep roots in both Bogotá and Berlin, he represents a new generation pushing melodic club sounds forward.
