Elpe

Elpe started with classical piano, moved through guitar, hip-hop, jazz and rock before electronic music found him at fifteen. Less than a year later he was already organising his own nights. That restless, wide-ranging background is still present in the way he builds a set - rich, unpredictable, groove-driven. Based in Vienna, he co-founded Sweat in Munich and later Groove Revival, a Vienna event series and vinyl store that champions analog-heavy club sounds. His music sits somewhere in the late nineties and early 2000s - thick basslines, funk and electro-laced textures, the kind of outsider take on underground music that feels both familiar and slightly off-kilter. Pleasantly weird, as promised.
