Less waiting, more dancing! Together with Mastercard in cooperation with Global Payments, we will become Austria’s first cashless festival with an open loop payment system. This doesn’t only save you a lot of time at the bars, but also brings us one step closer to our goal of becoming Austria’s most sustainable festival.
At Paradies Garten you can simply pay with your debit- or credit card as well as your smartphone or wearable. Cashless as it is. This means that at all bars and food stands you will be able to pay cashless and for amounts under EUR 50, you don not even need a PIN code. The pro’s are that you won’t need to get cash before the festival, don’t have to queue to buy tokens or to recharge your chip. Wherever you are, if your bank funds are sufficient, you will be able to pay directly without having to queue up to recharge a chip or to buy tokens. Another pro is that you won’t be left with a remaining balance on your chip on Monday.
As sustainability is part of our DNA, becoming a greener festival is particularly close to our hearts. We consistently rely on renewable energies, ban single-use plastic products from the entire festival site and offer exclusively vegetarian food. Thanks to the cooperation with Mastercard and Global Payments, we take another step closer to our goal of becoming Austria’s greenest festival: according to studies from the Netherlands, payments made by debit- or credit card have lower carbon emissions overall. The ecological footprint of cash payments is 36% higher than that of card payments due to the supply chain.
